Couldn't go out without crow barring in a terrible pun^ now could I. Yes that's right foundees, after fifteen enjoyable but spectacularly unsuccessful months, The Found Of Confusion has decided to call it a day. The public indifference has been truly overwhelming, and having remarkably failed to achieve any of the aims I originally set out, the time feels right to step aside and leave the band finding game to those many blogs who actually have readers and stuff!
To all the artists featured, a big thank you. Writing about music is difficult and only really comes together if you can discover songs that fire your imagination; each of the acts have provided that spark and it's been a pleasure trying to explain their magic through my off the wall and wildly inaccurate ramblings. Good luck to all of them, sorry I haven't been much use in raising your profile, but I hope you will go on and conquer the world....well those of you that haven't split up already!!
To anyone that has taken the time to read any of the posts in the blog, I love you!!!! The hits have been few and far between, so each one has been greeted gleefully, especially you in Gabon whoever you were! I had hoped to build up a little community of like minded music lovers and maybe make some new friends, but alas it was not to be, next time I'll try bribery, threats or casual nudity. One man did turn up week in week out though, so cheers Kev, you're not bad for a French bloke.

Found - Jubilants
♪ Advance Australia fair!!! ♪ Ahem, got caught up in the moment there. These regular stopovers for The Found Of Confusion in the behemoth of the Oceanic region have stirred a sense of patriotism and paternal pride towards the outback nation - it's important to stress that this fondness is in no way an attempt to curry favour with the young ladies we fancy off Neighbours*, no sir not at all!....*wink*.......Anyway, having frequented Brisbane as if it were a second home, dropped by Melbourne twice, and tipped up at both Hobart and Perth, it's surprising to see one (sorry Adelaide you don't count) glaring omission when we hold high our Australian musical map - look, there's a great big hole in the space where Sydney should be! Well, get the sticky tape and patching paper out, that oversight is about to be remedied!
The knights in New South Wales shining armour, riding to the salvation of their countries flagship city, are none other than indie-pop impresarios , JUBILANTS. Infuriatingly though the rescue mission has been not so much a revolution rousing gallop, but more a sedate Sunday pony trek, with stops for refreshments, sunbathing and any other distraction you care to envisage! Back in March of last year, the quartet appeared set to storm the music industry ramparts when debut single 'Antics' rocketed up The Hype Machine chart, but what's followed was....well, nothing really, as things got more attritional and a patient wait began to see whether or not that initial promise could be backed up through subsequent material. Exactly 365 days on from that first release the answer came, and there was a collective mopping of brows when it turned out that, not only had the first effort been matched, they'd actually stepped their game up a notch. With it's springy, Two Door Cinema Club, guitar hooks, woo hoo'd backing vocals and unashamedly pop chorus, 'Antics' was like a fresh faced indie kid, giddily throwing shapes on the dancefloor with a care free abandon. New single 'Spain' though plays things cooler; we're viewing the scene through the gaze of a more seasoned and worldly companion, who's been there, done it, and is now content to watch from the sidelines - still with a twinkle in the eye, but a cautious heart to protect. The guitars remain light on their feet and the anthemic attributes stay in tact, but as Balearic flavoured synths, akin to those adopted by Polaresets, billow and break around a maudlin vocal, the prevailing mood is reflective rather than go-getting - and it's all the better for it. Two songs down, two big ticks on the page - let's just hope we don't have to wait a full year for the next one!
*Although if they do want to wed me then that would be nice.

Easter Treats!
Happy Easter readers! I'll level with you, I've got a football match to watch, a Sunday roast to demolish and a load of yummy milk chocolate eggs waiting to be mistreated by my mucky paws, so lets just keep this latest round up squarely to the point - ready, set, go!
Speaking of albums, Tasmanians TIGER CHOIR are finally gearing up for a proper release of their great debut record Unicycles, which comes out on June 1st. By way of an introduction to the LP the band have shot the below video, for the opening track 'Ephemeral City', to give a taster of what to expect from the record - which will also include 'Vultures', one of this blogs 25 tracks of last year.
Releasing full length debuts must be all the rage right now, because, as was previously mentioned, SUMMER HEART has his first LP dropping at the tail end of this month. The thing is though he doesn't want you to have that alone, hence why he's uploaded his COMPLETE back catalogue of EP's to Soundcloud and made each track available for free! That must have taken a while for all those megabytes to process, but he put the spare time to fine use by recording this cover of 'Third Wave' by Work Drugs, which is, you guessed it, free to own.

As Easter Sunday is very much a day of PEACE it's only right we give the Birmingham boys a mention don't you think? They've now shared the official video for the excellent 'Follow Baby' and there's good news - this one differs from it's predecessor in that it doesn't try to hypnotise or kill the viewer, that's good progress lads, well done! Instead what we get is the band and some attractive ladies, rolling around in a landscape that, may or may not be, a big bowl of strawberry Angel Delight or a field made of candy floss - I'll let you decide.
Finally we rendezvous with THE BILINDA BUTCHERS, who have called in the assistance of Kristine Capua, from most recent Founders Tiny Fireflies, to provide additional vocals on a brand new song 'Hai bby'. Available to download for nothing from here (in part one of the beko 100 collection), the track is exactly the sort of dream-drawing dalliance we've come to adore from the Californian duo. Appetites well whetted, bring on that second EP!

Treat number one comes from ZULU WINTER, because this week they went and sneaked out a pristinely polished version of 'Silver Tongue', the demo track that had originally caused the blog world to sit up and take notice. This is the second single to be taken from their debut album due in mid May, so have a listen to the improved version below and then go and pick it up through ITunes.

Found - Tiny Fireflies
Aside from tucking into a triple decker ice-cream sundae with nuts and toffee sauce, undoubtedly the BEST thing about last weeks unseasonable heatwave, was having the opportunity to lounge in the garden without being molested by winged warriors and blood thirsty bugs. We're not talking wiggly worms or flutterbys here people, no this is a reference to the Wasp's, Midge's and gargantuan flying beetle monsters, that rock up every summer determined to wreck a tanning session with their chomping teeth and pointy tails! Well this year it's war, know this bugs and insects; should you flit over the fence you will then be in my domain and as such will be chased and flapped at till my legs and arms fall off - be warned!
Battle lines established, it should be made clear that this sweeping threat doesn't quite extend to all aerial arrivals, because here in the grounds of casa Found Of Confusion there's sure to be a warm welcome extended to a pair of TINY FIREFLIES. The hovering and glowing duo are Chicago residents Kristine Capua and Lisle Mitnik, who are primarily recognisable as two fifths of indie pop outfit Very Truly Yours. Band downtime being what is however, the creative couple each set to work on solo material, before then opting to pool the projects under one banner and test their combined talents in the fields of new wave and dreampop. Debuting with a three song compilation for the Eardrumpop label in October 2010, Tiny Fireflies properly announced their presence with the release of last years four track 'Change' EP. Flush with twinkling melodies; slipper-soft, tiptoeing beats; and apportional vocals, the charming collection shared much in manner with the output of recent tour mates Memoryhouse, while the mellow movements of opener 'Your Love' enabled it to weave the sort of seductive spell that's become synonymous with Still Corners. Now allied to the serially spot on Cloudberry Records, the band last month released a split single hand in hand with Lily Of The Valley, and the endearingly positive lead track 'Picture Perfect' picked up where Changes closing number 'We Made A Pact' left off, wrapping the chilly, pop, synths of Selebrities in a fresh fluffy towel, then plonking them down in front of the fire with a mug of warm milk! You know, when you think about it, insects are a lot like people; some try to get under your skin, others tend to buzz around your head - Tiny Fireflies will do both, but watch them closely and you'll simply be left remembering how they lit up your night.
